Practical Experience
Kathy commenced work as a solicitor at E & A Lawyers in 2002, undertaking the firm's family law work, as well as a majority of the litigation work. Prior to working for E & A, Kathy had a diverse career as a national manager of a para-legal firm; giving lectures to corporate clients throughout Australia on amendments to various acts; undertaking work on behalf of the Australian government in the "Stolen Generation" cases; working on medical negligence matters; and teaching part-time at TAFE in Contract Law, Property Law and Trade Practices.
Kathy also has experience operating her own small practice; working as a consultant; and serving as a lawyer with the CBA, undertaking an array of legal work including conveyancing, trusts, and research on banking laws. In addition, Kathy has undertaken work as a volunteer solicitor for Legal Aid. Kathy is also a member of the Law Society's Speakers Bureau and was a volunteer for the school's Mock Trial program.
Kathy has been a Lecturer in the Master of Applied Law (Family Law) program since July 2008.
