Practical Experience
Ray was admitted as a solicitor in 1972 and has been in continuous practice since then in the areas of conveyancing, family law and general litigation. Since 1986, he has practised as a consultant to a suburban firm in Sydney. Ray specialises in family law, de facto relationships law and deceased estate litigation. He is a qualified mediator with a Master of Dispute Resolution from UTS and a member of the Law Society of New South Wales. He is a Family Law Specialist Accreditation Committee.

Ray has been a Lecturer with The College of Law since 2001. Has taught in all areas of the College curriculum, in both the online teaching and face-to-face components. He has taught the Family Law elective of the Practical Legal Training (PLT) course since 2001. In 2007 Ray joined the Applied Law Programs team and was involved in the development of the Family Law materials used in the Masters program.

A marathon and ultra marathon runner, Ray has completed over 100 marathons and in 2006 ran a marathon in under 3 hours that placed him in the top 10 in the world for his age that year. Has also completed for the second year in a row a 175k ultra marathon on bush trails north of Sydney in just under 35 hours.
