Commercial Litigation Accredited Specialists who enrol in the Graduate Diploma or Master of Applied Law (Commercial Litigation) receive advanced standing for two core subjects. To apply for advanced standing please contact the Applied Law Programs Courses Administrator or see the Program Manual for further information.
Students who enrol in a Masters degree may apply to exit with a lesser award once the course requirements for that lesser award have been completed. Students who enrol in the Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma may apply to proceed to a higher award at any time. A student who has already had a lesser award conferred may apply to proceed to a higher award with full credit for the lesser award. Please see the Program Manual for full details.
Assessment for each subject varies and may include:
- written advices to clients; drafting assignments; simulation exercises; mock files
- written exams or problem solving viva voce exams
Most subjects have a written exam in an open-book format of three hours duration. For students enrolling in single non-award subjects, assessment is optional, but, if you later choose to proceed to an award qualification, it will be mandatory.
Examinations will be held in the final week of each semester. The exam weeks for 2012 are:
Semester 1 2012: Week beginning 11 June 2012
Semester 2 2012: Week beginning 12 November 2012
Examination venues are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. On request, the College will make arrangements for students outside these capital cities to sit exams at a local university or TAFE with candidates to pay exam supervision fees direct to that institution.
The Program is primarily delivered online. Face-to-face interactive activities may include webinars (web-based seminars) or workshops which may be held in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth (subject to demand). All workshops for all subjects in all states are dependent on a minimum number of students attending.
The 2012 workshops are proposed to be held on the following dates:
Semester 1 2012:
Brisbane: Week beginning 9 April (Week 5)
Sydney: Week beginning 16 April (Week 6)
Melbourne: Week beginning 23 April (Week 7)
