The Applied Law Program (Family Law) is delivered online, giving you the freedom and flexibility of study anywhere, any time via a computer with internet access.
The Program has been developed to:
- engage students through interactive activities based on adult learning principles and supporting a broad range of blended learning strategies
- deliver a course which students can gain access to, and work easily on, anywhere and at any time
- deliver interactive materials, both online and face-to-face, which are relevant to practice
- provide a range of online student communication, collaboration and assessment opportunities, including self-assessment
- provide access to experienced mentors who guide students on matters of practice
- provide students with access to leading judges, barristers and solicitors at workshops for the purpose of gaining insight into cutting-edge practice
The Program curriculum emphasises the practical realities of family law practice.
Assignments, activities, exercises and assessment tasks will have a practical and work-related, rather than a purely academic, emphasis.
“I chose the College of Law Master of Applied Law (Family Law) because of the practical nature of the course. The lecturers and workshop presenters are experienced family law practitioners and the involvement of eminent people, such as The Honourable Justice Rose from the Family Court of Australia, is also very attractive. The practical assessments allow for a range of students to gain valuable insights from the course. Whether that is a new graduate who may want to develop their skills or an accredited specialist who may want to simply refine or hone specific areas of their practice.” - James Horsburgh, Mireland Lawyers, Master Candidate
