Directors' Duties and Insolvent Trading: s588G Corporations Act

This two part seminar will cover:

  • The most recent case law considering the application of s588G; and

  • Issues surrounding forensic evidence in proving or disproving solvency for a corporation during a trial.

William Summers is a barrister who practises in commercial law from Second Floor Wentworth Chambers. His previous experience included working as a management accountant and working in the Big 4. He is a CPA and also a member of the Tax Institute.

Andrew Stewart is a lawyer at Marsdens Law Group and specialises in commercial litigation. He holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours, Bachelor of Commerce with an Accounting major and Master of Laws degrees.

Andrew has previously worked in professional services and academia and appears and advises his clients on all aspects of the Corporations Act, in particular directors’ duties, corporate governance and insolvency. He also handles litigation matters involving taxation law and contractual disputes.
