The Flex Factor: Choose workshops that work for you
We make it easy for you to tailor a Profs course around your commitments.
With the College of Law, you can mix and match workshop locations and dates as you please. You might do your first one in Auckland – and then your next two online. You’re in full control.
Have you found a course length and start date that best fits your schedule? If so, great! The next step in securing your tailored Profs programme is to select your workshop options.
What you need to know
You need to attend three workshops. Each workshop runs across multiple days – and you can only take one workshop at a time. Your workshops need to fall within the start and end dates of your chosen Profs course.
- Interviewing (three days or four evenings)
- Negotiation (three days or four evenings)
- Advocacy (seven days or seven evenings)
We strongly recommend you take Advocacy at the end of your Profs course wherever possible. What you learn in other Profs subjects (especially Civil Litigation) will allow for a more holistic understanding of the Advocacy process.
Please choose your workshop dates carefully – changing dates may incur a fee.
Please note that your Profs course also includes five other subjects which require written/online submissions at scheduled dates. These subjects do not have an attendance requirement like the workshop subjects do.
The scheduled dates of the five online subjects are set out in the course timetable; you are able to work on those in your own time, but must meet the advertised due date requirements. Click here to learn more.
Evening Condensed
- Two nights each week (Tuesdays and Thursdays)- 5.30 pm to 9 pm
- Best for those who want the momentum of multiple touchpoints each week
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mix and match locations and times?
Yes. With the Flex Factor, you can choose different locations and times for each workshop.
You might take Interviewing in the daytime in Auckland, and then Advocacy in the evening, online.
What if I can’t find a workshop for my preferred location and date?
We offer many workshop options throughout the year. However, we can’t guarantee your preferred option will be available at the time you wish.
If you’re set on your course start date, you may need to select a different workshop start date – or choose to complete it online.
My chosen workshop isn’t showing on the enrolment form. What should I do?
Workshops only appear on the enrolment form if space is available – we operate on a first in first served basis. Also, workshops will not appear if the dates overlap with another workshop you’ve selected.
If you can’t see your workshop on the enrolment form, please select another workshop date.
