While factors influencing these health outcomes are wide-ranging, affecting individuals and groups in different ways, there are easy tips we can implement, specifically regarding stress caused by work, to help improve our mental performance and emotional regulation.

We might not be able to avoid the sources of stress, but we can influence how we respond. There are measures we can take to lower our levels of cortisol, the stress hormone by eating certain foods.

  1. Foods high in B-Vitamins (beef, chicken, eggs, fortified cereal with vitamin B-12).
  2. Foods high in Omega 3s (Fish, Walnuts, Avocado, Chia, Flax, Olive Oil).
  3. Magnesium Rich Food (Pumpkin Seeds, Almonds, Pistachios, Broccoli, Banana, Spinach, Dark Chocolate)
